- Three Marie Murphy students are winners of the Wilmette Optimist Club's recent creative writing contest, an annual event. Bomi Kim of Wilmette won first place, Eva Koronios of Glenview placed second and Nabil Rehmatullah of Wilmette won third.
• Seventh-grader Connie Gong of Wilmette was chosen as a runner-up in a local poetry contest for her poem "Sunflowers." The annual contest is held in celebration of National Poetry Month by the Glenview Public Library's youth services department. - Date of Publication
