Charles Raith's goal in the first period was the game-winner as coach Tom Gullen's team defeated the Elmhurst-based Blues 1-0 and captured the Blackhawk Cup state championship trophy.

It marked the seventh state championship won by a Gullen-coached youth team as Winnetka finished with a final record of 31-13-4.

Other player mentioned include Brent Segvich and Gunnar Lindblad, Tommy Cahill, Daniel Chang, Carl D'Amico, Joe Eidelman, John Huber, Cooper Johnson, Eric Lifvendahl, Kevin Marren, Matthew McShea, Graham Nitiss, Ryan Nolan, and Jimmy O'Brien.

In the girls 10 and under AA division Blackhawk Cup, Winnetka outlasted Evanston 3-2 in overtime to capture the state crown.

Team members included Morgan Baird, Emily Carothers, Morgan Crane, Taylor Devine, Ivy Dynek, Tala Glass, Allegra Grant, Morgan Harney, Anna Kahler, Jennifer Lindblad, Rebecca Lindblad, Ainslie Martin, Mackenzie Nolan, Mia Solberg and Hannah Von Kreutor.

The team was coached by Mike Glass.
