- Terra Nova testing is scheduled all next week at St. Joseph School.
A Lenten prayer service is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Friday in the gym.
Second-graders are scheduled to take part in the sacrament of first reconciliation at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
The next school board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday in the school's Neumann Lounge.
The school's "Crazy 8s" 2008 benefit dinner and auction is about a week away. The event takes place March 8 at the Michigan Shores Club, 911 Michigan Ave.
The school congratulates the following student representatives who were elected to the student council for the second semester: Elizabeth McKenna, Jack Wagner, Julia Nicholas, Matt Lee, Elizabeth Canning, James Williamson, Lauren Hackl, Cari Schuette, Alex Vasiliou, Alex Wagner, Anthony Sernus, Quinn Hackl, Catherine McKenna and Katrina Mutuc.
The kindergarten through third-grade basketball games continue from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the school gym.
The school congratulates the girl's sixth-grade basketball team's first place finish in the St. Peter School Tournament. Team members are Katina Burke, Marta Considine, Lauren Hackl, Celeste Hall, Lauren Reichert and Meg Wozniak.
The school's new cooking club meets Wednesdays through March 19. More information is available from teachers Sandy Namovicz or Erin Reschke.
Chess meets from 3:20-4:20 p.m. Tuesdays through April 8 in the school cafeteria.
The Thursday session of Mad Science continues through next Thursday and the Friday session of Mad Science continues through March 14.
The next session of the art club meets Wednesdays from 3:15-4:40 p.m. beginning March 5 and running through May 7.
School families are asked to save the dates of April 18 and 19. The spring musical will be "Bye Bye Birdie," presented by fifth- through eighth-grade students. Contact Cynthia Desmond-Schliesmann to help out with costumes.
The St. Joseph Women's Club is sponsoring a "Day and Evening of Reflection" March 6 in the Community Room. More information is available from Kathy Shinkle or Heidi O'Toole.
Students of the parish (fourth grade through high school) who are interested in participating in the Living Stations of the Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Good Friday are asked to complete a form and return it to their school teacher or religious education teacher. - Date of Publication
