Notes
Feb 7 was the first joint ice-rescue training between the Wilmette Harbor Coast Guard Station personnel and a local fire department. Unlike most other Coast Guard stations, Wilmette has never participated officially with area emergency crews for ice rescues on Lake Michigan. Comments by Wilmette firefighter Joe Falkovitz who helped in an ice rescue seven years ago with officer Scott Ewen.
