- Five area elementary school chess players on the Kings and Queens chess team claimed first place in the annual National Youth Action Chess Tournament Nov. 17 and 18 in St. Louis. Other players that competed in St. Louis were Victoria Bian of Lincolnshire, Scott Drier of Wilmette and Gurveer Singh of Palatine. The coach is Tamara Golovey.
