Edwin Bertinus Knudtson is listed in Wilmette's Who's Who of business as a banker. He is the president of the First National Bank of Wilmette. Brief biography outlining his background. He was born in the town of Blair, Wisconsin. He organized a bank in the town of Coon Valley, population 400, near LaCrosse as a young man and ran it for ten years. In 1915 he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he organized the State Bank of Commerce. Three years later he sold ih is interest in that bank and came to Chicago as vice-president of the Century Trust and Savings Bank, which in 1923 was merged with the Chicago Trust company. In 1926 he relocated to Wilmette purchasing the interest of J. M. Appel in the bank of which he is now president. In 1922 he pruchased and still is interested in a bank at Linden, Wisconsin, a town of 500 population.
