- Ruth Shalett Littman wrote an historical novel, "Finesilver's Gold" based on her grandfather's adventures during the Klondike gold rush.
Two first place winners of hte North Suburban Symphony's annual James Glacking Young Musicians competition Nov. 13 in Lake Forest. Tied for first place were cellist Ben Fried from Highland Park High School and violinist Ryan Murphy from Maine South High School.
