- Freda Mercurio, 74, of 2255 Ridge Av. died Jan. 6 in St. Francis Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Michael and Leonard, both of Evanston; two daughters, Margaret Momoscalco of Wilmette and Frances Popiolek of Northbrook; two sisters, Mary Spalla of Chicago and Grace Polito; four brothers, Joseph, Murray, Sam and Phil Battaglia; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
