Manure Box Ordinance is Passed: Health measure gets approval of the village board and is a full fledged law

- The ordinance provides that every person, firm or corporation using a stable or shed where horses, mules, cattle or swine are kept, shall provide a box or vault with a capacity of twenty-five cubic feet for each animal kept on the premises. From April 1 to December each year, the boxes must be disinfected on alternate days with a solution of sulphate of iron or other approved solution. The boxes must be constructed of cement or brick and be provided with a tight cover. Dr. Moore is credited with bring this health measure before the village board.
