- The steamship George F. Baker of The Pittsburgh Steamship Company, loaded with iron ore, went aground off the Winnetka lake front on Friday in heavy fog. It was floated again Sunday noon to continue on to the South Chicago steel works. A lighter took off half of the cargo and two ships of the same line towed it away. Comments by Captain Jensen of the United States Coast Guard service.
The George F. Baker was in command of experienced Captain Campau. The ship's regular captain ran the ship aground at Eagle Harbor, Michigan, about a month ago and had his license revoked for thirty days. - Date of Publication
