- Lois Paula Doreen van Elk, of Northbrook and formerly of Evanston, Winnetka, Wilmette and Kenilworth, died Sept. 25 at home. He was 90.
Mrs. van Elk, born Aug. 22, 1917 in Birmingham, England.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Jaak of Northbrook; three daughters, Susan of California, Carolyn Wedekind of Northbrook and Maria Fowkes of Wilmette; a son, Russell of Glencoe; and six grandchildren, Stephanie, Jennifer and Brian Wedekind and Alexander, Emma and Miles Fowkes.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Mantle.
