- George and Marie (nee Guzman) Schmitz of Crest Hill., Ill., former residents of Wilmette, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 3. The couple married May 3, 1947, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Stevens Point, Wis. They are the parents of three sons, James (Terry) of Aurora, Colorado, the late Robert, and Michael (Kay) of Joliet.
