- Seventh Ward Alderman tells Evanston Council that progress is being made on water filtration. The council passed ordinances providing for the construction of cement sidewalks on Michigan avenue and Sheridan Square. City workers were granted the customary two weeks' vacation with pay. The Council granted the commissioner of public works authority to run a water main to the grounds of St. Mary's ball park. Alderman Turnock asked that the judiciary committee bring in an ordinance requiring a stop sign for automobiles and motorcycles at the Howard avenue limits
