- Jim Griffith of Wilmette co-founded the Committee on Lake Michigan Pollution about 40 years ago. The group became the Lake Michigan Federation, and is now the Alliance of the Great Lakes. Comments on the proposal by British Petroleum for discharge into Lake Michigan from its Whiting, Indiana, refinery. Prof. Caleb Griffith of Lake Forest College also comments.
