- The widow of Thomas Carr, Dr. Rachel Hickey Carr, a retired physiclan and surgeon, who lived for several years at 1234 Wilmette avenue, Wilmette, died at St. Francis Hospital, Evanston, on August 14. She was born in Springfield, Ill. and would have been 90 years old in December. Dr. Carr leaves a daughter, Rosemary Carr Benet, the widow of the novelist and poet, Stephen Vincent Benet, and three grandchildren, all of New York City.
