- Smoker and informal "stag" party held Wednesday for members of the company and invited guests at Brown's Hall. Major Harbaugh was master of ceremonies. Sergeant Lindman and Captain Rye mentioned. Byron Smith played the organ. Mr. Hoyt King entertained with humorous readings. Mr. Prescott, father of former Prescott [sic], told southern stories. Lieutenant Mitchell told humerous stories. Refreshments of sandiwches, pickles and coffee provided by Mess Sergeant Long. Sergeant Hopkins made an impromptu speech. Major S. H. Vowell described the organization of the eleventh regiment. Major Searle, commanding officer of the medical corps of the regiment was the last speaker. Byron Smith, former member and sergeant of the company, played several organ selections.
Military athletic carnival and vaudeville entertainment was given by the regiment at the armory last Thursday evening to raise money to purchase an ambulance and supply truck for the regiment's use. Fred Montanaro did not get to wrestle because his opponent failed to appear.
The following officers of "K" company and the eleventh regiment all live in Wilmette: Major Vowell, Major Searle, Major Harbaugh, Captain Rye, Lieut. Rice, Lieut. Segsworth, and Lieut. Mitchell
Lieut. Heller has been acting regimental adjutant
Captain Rye made a business trip to New York City.
