- The war department commission on training camp activities sent out an appeal to holders of smileage books, urging that they be sent to the commanding officers of ports of debarkation for distribution to soldiers arriving from overseas. Sale of Smilage Books containing coupons for admission to liberty theaters, has been stopped, so military personnel cannot purchase them.
