- Joel Africk of Wilmette, president and CEO of the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago, attended Catch Your Breath, a Women and Lung Health Conference May 2 in Chicago.
St. Joseph School congratulates the three new members of the school's board: Stephen Fleischer, Denise Kenny and Mike Kerrigan. Other members are Tom Considine, Colleen Driscoll, Sam Gambacorta, Connie Fletcher, Danielle Mergner and Macaire Trapp. Thanks to Pete McCanna, Steve Santacruz and Paul Schwab for their service to the board.
Irving Cutler of Wilmette was recognized by the Illinois State Historical Society at an awards luncheon April 28 at Pere Marquette State Park Lodge in Grafton, Ill. The award was for his book, "Chicago: Metropolis of the Mid-Continent"
