- Notes
- Threatened strike in the ship yards reflects poorly on the Americanism of the workers. The men are demanding one dollar an hour, double for overtime, and a half day on Saturday. On the Parcific coast the present wage is $3.77 per day. Atlantic coast workers receive from %5.50 to $6.50 per day. Before the war the wages were lower.
