- An official U.S. Government War Exposition will be held on the Chicago Lakefront in September with fourteen car-loads of trophies on display including cannon, rifles, machine guns, flame throwers, gas devices, helmets, uniform and spoils of war taken from Germans by soldiers of the U.S. and their allies. A counterpart of a section of front line trenches, with real soldiers actually living in them will be displayed, and probably sham battles will take place. Naval vessels will maneuver and fire on the lake. Motion pictures will be presented and demonstrations of vocational guidance for wounded men.
