- Ben Feis, 13, of Winnetka, never met his great grandmother Brandla Hofman, who was killed in Poland when the Nazis came. She urged his grandfather, Holocaust survivor, Frank Hofman, to flee the village of Mogielnieca in 1939. Feis completed a videotaped, oral history project in time for the Sunday April 15 Holocaust Remembrance Day--Yom Hashoa, as the mitzvah project for this Bar Mitzvah. He plans to donate the DVD to the Illinois Holocaust Museum currently under constructin in Skokie.
