- Demonstrations are being held in the Congregational church on the uses of flour substitutes by Mrs. Anna J. Peterson of the Household Economics department of the Rumford Baking company. Today the subject is "War Cakes". On Friday she will demonstrate the making of "Breads."
Business meeting of the Khartoum Chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire was held at the home of Mrs. George Phillips, 1119 Forest avenue, on March 5. Mrs. Susan Mason and Mrs. Elizabeth Baremore were thanked for piecing quilts for hospitals.
Miss Harriet Vittum of Northwestern Settlement house in Chicago, is giving a course of lectures on "Social Service Work" at the Wilmette Woman's Club next Tuesday.
The Misses Turck, 935 Elmwood avenue, entertained at luncheon last Thursday in honor of Madame Burani, a member of "Lilac Time" comapny.
Third quarterly luncheon and business meeting of the Wilmette Woman's Club will be held next Wednesday.
Mrs. Jacob B. Greiner, 635 Lake avenue, is at the North Shore Health Resort for a fortnight or so.
Regular monthly association luncheon and meeting will be held at St. Augustine's parish house on Marc. 15. Mrs. Favor will be hostess.
Owing to illness, the meeting of the Thursday Club, which was to have been held at the home of Mrs. Arthur Taylor, 835 Central avenue, a fortnight ago, was held today.
Robert Lobannof, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lobannof, 1118 Greenleaf avenue, has arrived safely overseas with the 120th Field artillery.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schaefer of Gross Point have returned from California.
