- Entertainments are being planned by their officers for the Members of D Company of the First Regiment, Illinois Reserves, and for K Company of the Eleventh Regiment, Illinois National Guard. A new company of the Illnois Volunteer Training Corps is now being organized in Chicago by Corporal John C. Mannerud of D. Company. The entertainments being planned include a social hour after the drill each week, when the mothers, wives and sisters of the men can enjoy the company's meetings. The first organized singing in the reserves was done at Company D. Captain A. H. Howard has taken an interest in the musical abilities of the company. Sergeant J. J. Peters of Company D is also commander of the Evanston company of Spanish War Veterans.
