- Woman's club is eager to own a service flag. Each member must buy and sell one bond or its equivalent. Mentioned are Mrs. F. H. Gallagher, Mesdames George Spangler, Arthur Allen, Amos Hostetter, Arthur Rice and W. J. King.
Last Saturday Mrs. Lillian D. Northam entertained at dinner in her home, 423 Tenth street, in honor of several sailors from Great Lakes station. Later the group adjourned to the home of Mrs. Northam's sister, Mrs. Norman S. Peters, 731 Ninth street, for dancing and games. Mr. Betts showed slides of scenes of the Spanish American war taken during his military service.
A. G. Frost and his daughter, Miss Marion Frost, 509 Central, returned from a visit to Naperville to Mr. Frost's parents.
Wilmette Culture Club will hold final meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. William S. Freeman, 711 Lake avenue, on May 9.
Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Bower, 1014 Ashland avenue, have returned from a visit in Plainfield, Ill.
Mrs. George Bird of 510 Washington avenue returned Saturday from a visit to Detroit, Mich.
Miss Nettie L. Kaufman, 1029 Elmwood avenue, is sick.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin H. Culver, 103 Broadway avenue, announce the birth of a son on Saturday, April 6.
Thursday Sewing Club will meet at the home of Miss Lucy Rich, 1016 Linden avenue, today.
Mrs. Ira A. Jones of 1027 Central avenue is visiting in Decatur, Ill.
Mrs. Menander McCallum and children of 831 Central avenue, are leaving for a visit with relatives in Ashville, N.C.
