- There will be two closely-watched elections this spring. The Citizens Ticket candidates and perhaps additional independent candidates may be added before the filing deadline of April 1. A tax proposition will appear on the balloting on Tuesday, April 16, and the regular Spring election will be held April 2.
Six candidates for Township offices have appeared on the Citizen's League Ticket without current opposition. They are Harry Miller for Village Treasurer, Earl E. Orner for Village Clerk, Earl G. Low, Lyman M. Drake and John R. Cochran for Village Trustees, J. W. Iliff and J. R. Harper for Public Library trustees, Hoyt King of Wilmette for Collector, Gertrude M. Thurston of Winnetka for Supervisor, George R. Harbaugh of Wilmette for Assessor, Herbert H. Sherer of Glencoe for Highways Commissioner, Walter Scott Crozier of Glencoe for Clerk, Asbury P. Crume of Wilmette for Constable.
The Committee of Fifteen which selected the candidates for village officers were: H. C. Arms, Louis K. Billson, Harry Gardiner, Hayes McKinney, Maz Zabel, W. D. Mathes, E. R. Nourse, C. S. McCoy, J.
