Among the attendants from Wilmette on the Masonic banquet at Evanston on Tuesday evening were J. G. Anderson, F. L. Joy, A. E. Walters and S. M. Dingee.
Miss Sheldon has been unable to take charge of her school during the week on account of the illness of her niece, Miss Mae Dingee. Her place has been filled by Miss Law..
Mr. A. E. Walters has returned from a trip to California, but Mrs. Walters remains at Los Angeles for an indefinite period on account of her health. Mr. Walters' mother will keep house in his wife's absence.
At the chestnut sociable held at Mr. P.O. Crocker's, numerous chestnuts were cracked, and the short program was enjoyed. The prizes in the old time spelling match were captured by Mrs. L. J. Piersen and Mr. H. H. Latham..
Next Tuesday evening the Shakespeare club will meet at the home of Mrs. Law. A program has been prepared, consisting of music and declamations, which will be followed by a debate on the question as to whether Richard III or Iago is the greater villain.
Mr. H.G. Drury having resigned his position as Bible class teacher in the Congregational Sunday School, his old scholars gave him a pleasant surprise at home Saturday evening, when two choice books were quietly left as reminders of "Auld Lang Syne." Mrs. L. A. Field succeeds Mr. Drury.- Media Type
