- Mary Louise Davenport Carroll died Jan. 6 at the Whitehall Nursing Home in Deerfield. Mrs. Carroll was the widow of Dr. Howard B. Carroll. She is survived by her sons, Howard B. of Winnetka, and John D. of Arlington, Texas; eleven grandchildren, including Gina C. Howard of Charlotte, N.C., Mary Beth Phillips of Wilmette; Nancy C. Hoag of Glenview and David A. Carroll of Winnetka; and eight great-grandchildren. Services were private. Burial was at All Saints Cemetery.
