- Thor M. Gardner, 86, a resident of Evanston for 10 years, died April 1 at Evanston Hospital. He was born in Pittsurgh, Pa. Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his wife, Margart Roosevelt Gardner. He is survived by his children, Russell R. of Barrington, Dr. William M. of Wilmette and Betty Ann Nelson of Glenview; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy M. Gardner of West Columbia, S.C. Burial was in Memorial Park, Skokie.
