- Evanston native James W. Macdonald died Jan. 13 at the age of 80 at Brendel Care Centre in Northbrook. He is survived by his wife, Frances; a sister, Edna Macdonald of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons, James W. Macdonald, Jr. of Kenilworth and David R. Macdonald of Winnetka; a daughter, Marion Blau of Winnetka, and 11 grandchildren.
