- George B. Winter, 93, died Oct. 20 in a Racine, Wis. nursing home. He was born in Evanston. Mr. Winter's father, the late George Winter, owned Evanston and Wilmette grocery stores that bore his name. His wife, Mary, died in 1980. Mr. Winter is survived by his son, John of Racine, Wis.; one grandson; one great-grandson; and a brother, Robert Winter of Highland Park.
