George Roemer, Native of Wilmette, Succumbs
Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church for George Roemer, 2739 Glenview road, a lifelong resident of Wilmette, who died in the Alexian Brothers hospital in Chicago last Saturday of a heart ailment. Mr. Roemer was 55 years old. He was born at the Glenview road address and had lived there all his life. His father, Casper Roemer, who died in 1904, was one of the oldest settlers in this vicinity. George Roemer managed the family farm until 1925, when most of it was sold for subdivision purposes. Mr. Roemer's widow, Mrs. Anna Roemer, five children, Marie, Frank, Albert, Lawrence and Roland, and three brothers, Peter, Joseph and Simeon, survive him. All of the survivors with the exception of the son, Albert, live in Wilmette. Albert is attending St. Louis seminary at Webster Grove, Mo.
