Leslie Lawrence Perry, 1127 Greenwood Avenue, Wilmette, died suddenly on February 1 at Cuttingsville, Vt. Mr. Perry was born at Lawrence, Mass. in 1874. After graduating from Tufts college, class of 1896, he began his career in electrical engineering, to which profession he devoted the best years of his life. His early work in this field was with the extensive power generation and distribution interests of the late Dr. F. S. Pearson. This work took him on extended trips to Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and various countries of Europe. From 1897 to 1900 and again from 1909 to 1911 Mr. Perry was with the General Electic company at Schenectady, N.Y. During the past 24 years he has been prominently associated with the large engineering firm of Sargent and Lundy, Chicago. Mr. Perry was a fellow of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and a member of the Western Society of Engineers. To these organizations he made numerous contributions of papers and reports based on his wide knowledge of the first hand experiences in his chosen field. These organizations in turn honored him with appointments to various important committees. Mr. Perry was a member of the First Congregational church of Wilmette and had served on its board of deacons. Surviving him are his widow, Katherine Russell Perry; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Perry Johnson of Kiel, Wis.; two sons, Russell L. Perry, of Davis, Calif., and Theodore H. Perry of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; two brothers and two sisters. The funeral services were held at Rutland, Vt. on Tuesday, and burial was at Chester, Vt.
