Funeral services for Hettie Merriam Ricketts, 807 Ashland avenue, Wilmette, were held Thursday of last week at her home. Mrs. Ricketts died on Wednesday of last week at the Evanston hospital of injuries sustained on February 1 in a fall at her home. A descendant of an old American family which first settled in 1638 in Concord in Massachusetts Bay colony, and which migrated to southeastern Ohio over a century ago, she came to Chicago in 1889. Since she moved to Wilmette 20 years ago, she was active in the First Presbyterian church, the Woman's club, and the Wilmette Garden club. She is survived by her husband, C. Lindsay Ricketts, noted bibliophile, authority on illuminated manuscripts, and honorary curator of manuscripts at the Art institute; by two daughters, Mrs. Arthur T. Goodman and Mrs. Jasper S. King, both of Winnetka, and by a sister, Miss Mary Merriam, who makes her home with a niece, Mrs. Thomas Gibson of Wilmette.
