Mrs. Anne Clarke Washburne, 88 widow of Hempstead Washburne, who served as mayor of Chicago from 1891 to 1893, died of a heart attack Friday at her home, 608 Arbor Vitae road, Winnetka.
Funeral services were held on Monday morning at the Sacred Heart church in Hubbard Woods with interment at Graceland cemetery, Chicago.
She is survived by three sons, Clarke, with whom she had made her home for the past few years, Gratiot of Wyoming, and Hempstead of Lake Forest; by a daughter, Dr. Annette Washburne of Madison, Wis. and by two sisters.
