Funeral services were held in Oak Park this (Thursday) afternoon for Mrs. Minnie Frances Owen, mother of Ira June Owen of 349 Hawthorn lane, and sister of Mrs. Douglas
of 1236 Asbury avenue, Winnetka. Mrs. Owen died Monday in Evanston, where she had lived for
the last two years. Previously, she had been a resident of Oak Park for
80 years, her father, the late Frank
T. June. being one of the founders of the First Baptist church in that
village. Her marriage to William R.
Owen took place in 1877. She was a nwmber of the George Rogers Clarke chapter the D.A:R., and
was a patron of the Chicago Historical Society. Surviving are her son,
her granddaughter, Jean Owen of Winnetka; two sisters, Miss Suzanne
June of Evanstnn and Mrs. Smith;
and two bnthers, J. Dale June of
Upper Lake. Calif., and Paul S. June
of Jacksonville, Fla. The late Frank
H. June of Oak Park was another brother of Mrs. Owen.
