Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Kimball, 233 Greenleaf avenue, Wilmette, and their son, Norman, have just returned from Detroit, Mich., where they attended the funeral of Mrs. Kimball’s brother, Charles Sanborn Downs, who died August 15. About four years ago Mr. Downs made his home with the Kimballs for eighteen months. A veteran of the Spanish American war and the Foreign wars, he held a Congressional medal, one of the highest awards an American soldier can receive. He is survived by Mrs. Kimball and a stepmother, Mrs. Barbara Downs of Wilmette.
