Dr. Sidney B. Conger, 59, a Chicago industrial surgeon for 33 years, died Sunday, May 29, at Wesley Memorial hospital. Dr. Conger resided at 2927 Indian Wood Road. He moved to Wilmette in 1937 from Oak Park. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Harriet Conger, and a daughter, Juli. Listed in Who's Who for Industrial Surgeons, Dr. Conger was a member of the American Medical Association, the Chicago Medical Society, Alpha Kappa Kappa, a medical honorary fraternity, and Phi Delta Theta national social fraternity. He was on the staff of the Walter Reed Memorial hospital, was a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of Wilmette Post 46 of the American Legion. Dr. Conger was born in Arcadia, La. He attended the Tulane University school of medicine where he was graduated in 1910. The next three years he attended school at the University of Chicago. He interned at Roosevelt Hospital, New York City. During World War I, Dr. Conger served tor three years attaining the rank of first lieutenant in the medical corps. On his discharge, he began his practice in Chicago. Services were held Wednesday, June 1 in the First Presbyterian Church, Wilmette. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery.
