John H. Brumbaugh, 1612 Lake avenue died last Friday aat the Evanston hospital. Mr. Brumbaugh, who was chief engineer of the Western Actuary bureau and an authority of national prominence on fire prevention, was stricken at his home last Thursday. For thirty-three years, Mr. Brumbaugh had been active in fire prevention work. He was connected with the Chicago Board of Underwriters from 1900 to 1916, and was chief engineer of the Central Actuarial bureau from 1916 to 1929. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Eva M. Brumbaugh, president of the Wilmette Health center, and two sons, Robert J. and Frank T. Brumbaugh. Masonic funeral services were held at his late residence Monday afternoon, and burial took place at Memorial Park cemetery.
