Mrs. Anna Sprenger, one of Chicago's pioneer residents, died Monday, December 24, of pneumonia at St. Francis hospital, Evanston. For the last five years Mrs. Sprenger had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Anna Larner, at 1622 Central avenue, Wilmette. She had been a resident of Chicago all her life up to that time.

Mrs. Sprenger was born in the Streeterville district of Chicago, when the city was still known as Ft. Dearborn, a trading post. She was 69 years of age. Surviving her is one daughter, Mrs. Larner, of Wilmette; two sons, William T. Sprenger, of 135 Melrose avenue, Kenilworth, and Fred Sprenger, of Chicago, and nine grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at Scott's Funeral home, 1109 Central avenue, Wilmette, Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. Herbert L. Willett, pastor of the Kenilworth Union church officiating. Burial was at Waldheim cemetery.
