John Schildgen, 41 years old, of Wilmette, constable in the employ of the county, was killed Sunday afternoon when he was crushed between a sedan and a milk truck which collided at 43rd street and Berkeley avenue, Chicago.

Schildgen, who was in company with Miss Mary Younkin, of 1135 East 44th street, Chicago, had left her on the sidewalk to make a purchase at a store across the street. According to witnesses the two drivers and the constable became confused at the same time and the accident resulted.

The sedan, driven by Joseph Brockman, of 4428 Berkeley avenue, Chicago, was going north, while the truck was being driven east in 43rd street by Harvey Serviss, of 5548 Ingleside avenue.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9:30 and burial was made at All Saints cemetery.
