Prime Grade School Boys-^- For Basketball Tourney Although no definite schedule has as yet been arranged in regard to grammar school athletics, Coach Todd expresses pleasure at the show- ing the boys are making for the com- ing basketball season. It is certain, however, that a tourna- ment will be arranged between the 7th and 8th grades with_the_Beymer Memorial Trophy as the goal. From these teams will be selected a Gram- mar School team which will meet many other aggregations from the various schools along the north shore. Some attention will be centered on soccer and playground baseball. Byron Stolp Council to Elect New Officers Soon * With the new school year nicely started last week, plans are already being made to organize the Student Council at the Byron C. Stolp build- ing- Officers of this organization are elected by the children and their work is chiefly to take charge of the vari- ous school activities and to provide entertainment and special programs. The council will have a voice in the government of the school and will also be active in the suggestion of new features^foT the benefit of the - children, It proved to b£ -aa- effective organization last school year. Last Skokie Musicale Scheduled for Sunday The last of the series of the Skokie Country club musicales will be held Sun- day afternoon, September 23, at 5 o'clock. For the last concert, Mrs. Dwight C. Main Street Zoning to Be Subject of Hearings The Village' board Tuesday evening authorized the Board of Appeals on Zoning to hold public hearings for the consideration of requests for the re- classification of Main street property, now zoned "A" residence, to "B" com- mercial. "B" commercial territory, it was ex- plained, does not admit industries, but does allow structures to the height of 45 feet. The question behind the action of X\t board is the advisability of making pro- vision for the establishment of apart- ment structures along south Main street, it is said.
