The troop took the electric to Glencoe and then went Westward via the Wheeling road to the forest preserve. The First Class Scouts spent the greater part of the day on the cooking merit badge tests^ These include the making of a fire place with stones or sod, and cooking over the fire the following things: Camp Stew~TmeaT, potatoes, carrots, onions, and seasoning), two other vegetables, omelet, rice pudding, etc. The Scouts of lower rank passed a num- ber of tests also, but enjoyed the most of the day in bird study and games. „,,„,..,.,::, . .Troop 4 ^m^m^miiM^. After the Efficiency contest prize was awarded, it was discovered that Senior Patrol Leader Snite Ji|4 tied Scout Read for first place, f I Some of the boys have started to work on their bridges for the Pione- ering Merit Badge. Last Saturday S. P. L. Snite brought his to the meet- ing. The bridge is supposed to hold 250 pounds. Snite could stand on it very successfully, Mr. Leach decided not to try. He pronounced it, with a few corrections, a good job, though. The Scouts of Troop 4 extend an invitation to their fathers and moth- ers to attend parents Night on April 28. The parents will go through a regular meeting with the Scouts. This will be a very good chance to show the parents just exactly the work done by the Boy Scouts. Troop 4 sends its best wishes to the convention, or whatever it is the teachers are having to-day, and hope that they will have another one very soon. Because, if it doesn't rain or snow, Troop 4 is going out to its camp. Thprp is &tilLsom#-room-inâ€"TroQP- 4 for some more boys.
