FRIDAY, MARCH 31, 1922 wmmammmamm VISITORS MARVEL AT I'PHONEaSWITCHBOARD "1 Despite very unfavorable weather many Wilmette, Kenilworth and GrosB Point subscribers of the Illinois Bell Telephone company visited the Wil- nfette exchange last week-end upon in- vitation of district manager H. B. Gates, and were amply rewarded at viewing at first Hand the actual work- ings of a modern telephone exchange. A staff of experts was on duty at the exchange to explain the opera- tion of the switchboard, how calls are received and connections made. Spec- ial interest attached to the operation of the toll and long distance calls. The local plant, in its entirety, was thrown open for inspection and explan- ation made by members of the plant departments.______________ National Republican --â€"^Party â- ;.......
