Right again! ^ â€" He* lives .with all the other young folks way out in Rogers Park on Lunt . avenue with his wife and three chil- dren, all named Laubenheimer. If you're a Mason or an Elk, he's your brother. Shake hands! Ever since he. was a kid of 24 he's been*interested in politics. He had it in him to be a real honest to-good- ~B6bs politician, and he's been ~nkJ£ eversince. £ Fourteen Years on the Job He got a job in the Sheriffs office fourteen years ago. Fourteen years give a man a lot of valuable ex- perience. If you went to school as long as that you'd earn a gilt-edged diploma. Maybe you'd be a D. C. A., â€"-Doctor of Civic Activities. In 1918 Harry became Sheriff Peter's Chief Deputy.Harry had gone =into? banking; got the position or cashier in the Rogers Park National bank. But Peter wanted him and wouldn't take no for an answer. So sheriff's office as chief deputy. He must have done his work well: thousands of lawyers have endorsed him as candidate for sheriff. He'r a" staunchReinibTiesiir TTou could tell that by looking at his pic- tare. It's a sharp pair of eyes be- hind those bone binoculars. If you're a Republican you'll see behind that forehead good brains. He looks as if he meant business. Sp â- vmt Laubenheimer is glad that Captain Westbrooke is in charge of the Coun- ty jail. He's with the Captain in all his plans for discipline and efficiency. Has Definite, Plan pur man has worked out plan to police the county highways, by the establishment of a Highway Police department. He'll see to it that the public is protected not only from hold-up men and vicious characters but also from crooked "speed cops" and Justices of the Peace. Whoever the next Sheriff is, he'll find in readi- ness for action a we* organized com- petent force of Highway: f$lice^--pre- ferably ex-service ..men. ||ii^^^^,-fe He favors the building of a^ new Cook County jail, always understand- ing that the question must be pint up to the voters in a dean comprehensive way. He's convinced that the present quarters for county prisoners are not at all adequate. As Chief Deputy Sheriff it has been his business to approve bonds in many civil court cases. He has persistent- ly refused to accept bonds from pro- fessional bondsmon. The security must be absolutely bona fide, com- pletely genuine. He intends to main- tain this strict dealing. Voters may be assured that he will not aspire to any other office if elected sheriff. He knows the cost of special elections and that taxpayers are already over- burdened. With this in mind, also, he pledges himself to practice the strictest economy in the conduct of his office. He'll make a good sheriff if experience, ambition, energy count | for anything. _^ WANX $2,O«M>Q0 RETREAT ±Mi National women's organizations and the American Legion are co-operating ___ _ __ _ to raise a fund of $2,000,000 to estab- hT*L. showed up" next mornmgln thyi^*^*16?* £or disabled service mon at Tupper Lake, N.
