18 THE LAKE SHORE NEWS, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16, 1921 WOMEN ENTER PLEA FOR ARMAMENT CUT Leaders of Various Notional Worn Organisation* to Moot in Chicago January S, to Unify Work. •n'i A national mats meeting of women interested in the reduction of arma- ment will he held Sunday evening, January 8, at the Auditorium theatre in Chicago, and at the same time simi- lar meetings will be held in Tokyo, Japan, and in London, England. The object of the meetings is to bring-to- gether women who have been work- ing for armament reduction to unify the work they have done, and offer their governments their unqualified support in such measures as the Dis- armament. Conference shall decide are practical, while requesting that the ultimate goal never shall be for- "goTtcn and war eventually declared outlaw. The Chicago meeting is in charge of a committee of which Mrs. James W. Morrison is chairman. Women's organizations representing millions of women from all parts of the United States will send representatives to the meeting, and between five and ten thousand women are expected. Or- ganizations that already have ap- pointed representatives are: General Federation of Women's Clubs and National League of Women Voter*, each with a membership of two mil- lion; Women's Trade Union League, Parent Teachers' Association, Na- tional Farm and Garden Association, National W. C. T. U., Women's Board of Missions, Salvation Army, Nation- al Baptist Missions, American Asso- ciation of University Women, Wo- men's Board of Missions, Baptist Foreign Missions, • Congregational Women's Board of Missions, Catholic Welfare Council. Jewish Council of Women, Chicago University Women.
