Mr. Stifler is serving this year as the First Vice President of the Convention as the head of the State Promotion Board. A^ delegation from the local church will be in attendance at the sessions during the week. Great interest is being shown in the Mil-week meetings of the church this fall in the study that is being made on the theme, "Getting Acquainted with the Bible". The group is facing squarely the facts as to the stages by which the individual books of the Bi- ble have been formed into a single Collection and the further question, which is proving most fascinating, as to how the sacred writings have been transmitted to us. BAUER IS KILLED BY AUTO TRUCK Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church, Saturday, for little 10 year old Wenzell Bauer, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Bauer, 1310 Wilmette avenue, who was instantly killed last Thursday when he was run over by an automobile truck near his home in Berwyn. The boy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bauer who formerly resided in Wilmette and have many friends in tbe village. Burial was at St. Jo- seph's.
