Mr. Robert Hoffman waa beat man at the wedding of his uncle, Mr. Peter Smith, at Hanover Center, Ind., No- vember 26. John Schaefer's barn on Schiller street was bought by Mr. Frank Meier and will be moved to his place and made over into an icehouse. Mr. Carl L. Braun and family from 6»0 Ash street, winnetka, have moved on John D. Braun's farm on Lake ave- nue, GroBs Point, Carl's father having retired from active work. The Ladies Card club was enter- tained by Mrs. Paul Bleser last Thurs- day. Mrs. Mary Loutsch, Mrs. John Huerter and Mrs. Henry Hoth won first, second and third prises respec- tively. The pastor, Dr. Wilson, will speak at 11 a. m., on, "The Word of God and the Adult Bible Class Movement," and at 7:45 p. m. on, "The Coming of the King into His Capital City." This is. one in the series of people's re- sponsive services on the Gospel of John, The singing of the Men's chorus and the Young People's chorus were features of last Sunday's service. The men will sing Sunday night - the familiar gospel songs, "There Shall Be Showers of Blessing," and "I Will Sing the Wondrous Story." The service will be thorough- evangelistic. The prayer and social meeting will be held Wednesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Canniff, 919 Ashland avenue, and the topic of the evening will be "The Promised Messiah and Hla Beneflcient Reign." The attendance at Sunday school laat Sunday was 138, and the largest class was Mr. Herbert Weld's class of boys, numbering twenty-two. The Christmas entertainment will be held on Monday evening, Deo. 23. On Sunday night, Dee. 22, a stereop- ticon on the "Story of Christ and Christmas" will be given in place of the regular evening service. This is particularly in the interests of the Sunday school; but for all. In the sermon Sunday morning attention will be called to some of the facts about the adult Bible class movement. There are now 31,221 such classes in the United States and Canada and they have an enrollment of 243,794 members.
