Clarence William (Toby) Doheny, 61, of 639 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka, a well known official in big league hockey, died January 21 in the Evanston Hospital. Services were held Tuesday at the Hebblethwaite chapel in Evanston, followed by interment on Wednesday in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Cobourg, Ont., Canada. Mr. Doheny was an official for the Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League, having been chief timekeeper of the Black Hawks since their inception in Chicago during the 1926-27 season. A native of Windsor, Ont., he was a colleagiate hockey star at St. Michael's College in Toronto and at Loyola College in Montreal and in 1917-18 played professionally with the old Montreal Wanderers. He came to Chicago 30 years ago and moved to Winnetka in 1935. He is survived b his widow, Kate Armour Doheny; a daughter, Mrs. John T. Hood of Des Plaines; a son David Armour Doheny, who lives at home; and a grandson, Richard, Wayne Hood.
