The Rev. John H. McCummiskey, a Latin teacher at Loyola Academy, died Thursday in Resurrection Hospital in Chicago. Fr. McCummiskey, a native of Chicago, entered the Society of Jesus in Milford, O., in 1931 and was ordained in 1944. He held a bachelor's degree in Greek from Loyola University, Chicago, and a master's degree in Latin from St. Louis University. Before joining the faculty at Loyola Academy in 1960, he taught at St. Ignatius School, Chicago; St. Xavier High School, Cincinnati; and the University of Detroit. He also served as associate editor of "Jesuit Missions" magazine for 11 years. Surviving are a brother, the Rev. James V. McCummiskey, pastor of St. Xavier Church, Cincinnati, and a sister, Mrs. Floyd J. Cormany of Los Angeles. A funeral mass was held Saturday at Loyola Academy.
