Lewis W. Berghoff, 77, of 1128 Greenwood Av., Wilmette, died Wednesday at his home. Mr. Berghoff, who graduated from Harvard Law School in 1917, has been president of the Berghoff Restaurant since 1935. His father, Herman, founded the original Berghoff restaurant in 1898. The firm now operates at two locations, 123 N. Wabash and 17 W. Adams in Chicago. Survivors include his wife, Carlyn; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Olson of Northbrook; two sons, Lewis W. Jr. in Barrington and Herman Joseph in Wilmette; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Kenny of Chicago and Mrs. Hannah Rumley of LaPorte, Ind.; a brother, Clement in Wilmette; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at St. Joseph's Church. Burial was at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
